What we verify
- Prices. Every dollar figure quoted in a TurnOver LA article is cross-referenced against the live service catalog at the moment of publish. If a price changes after publication, we update the article and bump its Updated date.
- Legal citations. Any reference to California rental law (security deposit rules, RSO provisions, just-cause eviction, AB 1482) links directly to the statute on leginfo.legislature.ca.gov or the originating agency page.
- Neighborhood facts.ZIP codes, rent control status, and area-specific rules cross-reference our internal neighborhood data and the Los Angeles Housing Department's RSO portal.
- Operational claims.Statements like "48-hour turnover" or "average vacancy loss of $93/day for a $2,800 1BR" come from real TurnOver LA job data, not industry averages.
Who reviews
The fact-checking pass is done by Jason Farone, Owner of TurnOver LA. Jason is responsible for every published article on this site. If you want to verify a specific claim, his contact is on every page footer.
When we re-verify
California law changes. So do market rents and vacancy economics. We re-verify every article that touches a regulated topic (deposits, RSO, eviction) on a quarterly cadence at minimum, and we bump the Updateddate when we make a real edit. We do not refresh dates without making real changes that's detectable and we don't do it.
If we get something wrong
See our corrections policy for how we handle errors. Short version: we fix it visibly, we note what changed, and we respond to every correction email within two business days.
